Postcards that are ARTSY and FUN (they must be both!)

2055.  Hello from Boston!
I lived in Maine for a bit myself, and my grandparents played Bluegrass music in Maine (GM is 90 now and tone deaf, poor thing!)  I am 44 and have a daughter who is 11.  We like to hike and explore and ride skateboards.  Covid career change has found me now delivering the mail in my zipcode, which is more fun than I expected.  I love the people on my route!  Hope all is well.  Headed to ME this week to see GM, we are all vaxxed!  Cheers, Harley

2051.  Greetings from Kassel, Germany
Kassel is known for the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm.  The picture shows Rapunzel.  The tower is supposed to be in the area.  I'm 44 years old.  I have two sons and two cats.  I like geochaching and darts.  Stay safe and happy.  Alex  - 9 May 2021

2039.  Greetings from Vancouver, British Columbia
My first job was as a page in the city library.  I absolutely loved it!  I got to decorate the children's reading area, look at neat books as I put them away, and my friends could always visit.  I hope that you like this card.  Happy Spring!

2029.  Best Wishes from Belarus
hi there!  I hope something good happens to you today.

2025. Belarus
Hello Chris!  My name is Pasha.  When I bought this postcard, I didn't know the painter.  She is from Belarus.  When I saw this postcard...I loved it.  I love Winter!  In this winter I have a plan to learn to ride a snowboard.  Many years I try to learn English...I can't speak in English.  Many people in Russia have a same problem - is so sad. ...but I hope in the future everything will be fine!  This problem will disappear!

1982.  Arctic Circle, Finland
I found a card with artwork, humor, old ladies, but most of all it's funny.  I also have a vegetable garden.  I had big potatoes this year, and my plum tree is making lots of fruits.  I don't know how I manage to eat all of them.  All the best, Natalia 3.9.2019

About this postcard:  It's Euphrosyne of Polotsk.  Predlava was born between 1101 and 1104 into Rurik noble family, members of which were the dukes of the principality of Polotsk, in what is modern day Belarus.  She refused all proposals of marriage and without her parents' knowledge, ran away to the convent.  She became a nun and took the name Euphosyne.  She began to live near the Sophia Cathedral, where she spent her time copying books.

1948.  Goodreads PC April 2019
Dancing Thistles, Sophie Appleton, 2011
I love books where the blurb shouts so-and-so inherits an old house!  I probably don't mind what genre the book is, as long as the heroine sets to make the house beautiful again.  One of my favorite books is Thornyhold by Mary Stewart, in which Cilly inherits her cousin's house and book of recipes and spells - white magic - and has to take up her place in the local community.  Exploring a house makes me very happy!  Especially if there's lots of detail and the house needs to be loved.  Lol, I think I am going to start a list on GR!  Love, Jodie

We Are Tied, 2014 Ben Giles
