MidEastern Reading (With a few leaps)

I have always had an interest in happenings in the Greece-Egypt-Mesopotamian part of the world. When I first came to Tucson I worked with a handful of Turkish teachers, visited Turkey for a few weeks with a couple of them (wow, what a place, I'm in love!), and now work at a Jewish day school with Russian-Jews, Israeli-Jews, South African-Jews, and American Jews. I learn so much from reading novels and memoirs about that HUGE part of our world, I wish I had time to read more. What follows is a list of what I've read recently.
